Peanutz Architekten is a design studio which deals with all aspects of architecture. One focus is the activation of public space and unused structures, with an emphasis on sustainable and cost-efficient architecture through the conversion of existing buildings. The work ranges from projects in public space to residential construction and participatory planning processes. The studio also engages in the design of museums and exhibitions, with a focus on communicating sustainable concepts of living, archives and cultural heritage. ‘Peanutz’ means designing space with a variety of ‚use’ (meaning Nutz in German). Peanutz Architekten often deal with the re-use (umnutzen) and interim use (Zwischennutzen) of existing buildings and vacant spaces.
