Martin Zaicek
Architect, dedicated to research and promotion of the architectural heritage of the 20th Century. He has served as Deputy Director and Executive Expert of the Slovak Chamber of Architects for Design Competitions and Policy Development in the field of Architecture. Member of several professional associations such as DOCOMOMO International, Jaromír Krejcar Society as well as a member of the art group Abandoned (Re)Creation. He completed his doctorate from the Faculty of Architecture of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava with extensive book research on the development of spa architecture between 1948-1989 in Slovakia. Martin is a co-author of the publication “Off Season” dedicated to the Machnáč Spa House in Trenčianske Teplice.
Between 2018 and 2022 he conducted research on the architecture of Georgian Spa town Tskaltubo, which results were published in the Permanent Recreation exhibition series in Bratislava and Tbilisi as well as in a book.
