Fédération Française de Football headquarters
Adrian Brewin, Reid Brewin Architects
This French Sports organisation was formed in 1919 and is based in the heart of the French capital, a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower. Reid Brewin Architects were selected after an invited design competition to overhaul the existing building located on Boulevard de Grenelle. The works includes a complete structural remodelling of the façade and building entry, a new contemporary lobby space, refurbished conference auditorium, meeting rooms and informal break-out spaces.
RBA’s proposal for the façade created a contemporary arrangement of glazing and perforated metal screen, from which alternating visual displays can be projected, depending on the sporting calendar. The project interior utilises bespoke timber elements for exhibiting trophies and historical memorabilia. These subtle design interventions add warmth and tactility to the workplace environment. Creative and adaptable furniture is specified to accommodate the latest working trends and behaviours. Sophisticated lighting solutions are intelligently integrated into the building’s fabric and fixtures: the pièce de résistance is an elegant circular lighting system positioned above the main reception desk, adding a sculptural element to the double height lobby space.
