Research Building
Adrian Brewin, Reid Brewin Architects
In 2023, RBA was a finalist in a design competition to create a new laboratory and office building in a scientific campus in Paris. The building is part of a larger project to develop a ZAC—zone d’aménagement concerté, an urban area designated for redevelopment—into a hub for sciences, education, and medicine.
The project involved the design of a new, multi-story building housing laboratories, offices, an auditorium, and two levels of underground parking on a small lot. Our design team devised a refined and engaging form that efficiently uses the available land. The green roof breaks up the sharp lines, integrates the building into the newly constructed medical district, and provides a welcoming environment for staff and guests.
